Henriette believes counseling is a collaborative process and aims to create a safe space for individuals to explore themselves more fully as they move towards balance and authenticity. She uses an integrative approach that is strength-based and solution-focused by nature. She pulls techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and
narrative work.
Henriette has practiced in a variety of settings: community agencies focused on inner city youth, foster care, redirection schools, as well as higher-ed. Her professional interests include emerging adulthood, family of origin concerns, relationship building, spirituality, transition difficulties, and student athletes.
Henriette earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and her Masters in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with experience counseling children, adolescents, college students, and young adults since 2004.
I am passionate and experienced in working with teens, young adults, and women who are self-aware, know what they want, and aren’t afraid of a challenge.
Often my clients are high achieving and successful. Yet, many feel stressed, unfulfilled, overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. I see our work as a partnership-- one where I am able bring evidence-based approaches to the table
to help my clients get unstuck and create lasting change.
I value authenticity and connection. I strive to cultivate relationships- including those with my clients- that are based on trust and openness. I strive to keep it real in session and to create an environment where my clients are emboldened to take risks and be vulnerable themselves. I find that clients who do tend to gain momentum towards their goals more quickly, leading them to feeling more fulfilled and satisfied with their lives.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Sweet Briar College and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology from UNC- Chapel Hill. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a NCBLCMHC board approved Clinical Supervisor. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of both public and private sector settings but spent the bulk working in higher education working in college counseling centers, with individuals with disabilities,
as well as in private practice.

Therapy is a personal journey fostered in a non-judgemental and supportive environment; this journey offers insight to each person’s inner world. As such, therapy is a collaborative process in which I encourage and support my clients to gain insight and foster personal growth as they work towards achieving their goals. I am passionate about supporting women and teens as they work towards being the self they deserve to be.
It is my belief that the creative process combined with compassion-focused techniques and evidence-based coping skills allows individuals to transform and heal matters of the mind and body. I aim to create a unique and non-judgmental space to help women and teens explore and express themselves authentically and safely. I will work with you to understand your needs and be your guide towards self-improvement and well being. I use an integrated approach to healing; you can expect traditional talk therapy integrated with art-making, mindfulness practices, and evidence-based dialectical behavioral techniques to support you.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Converse College in South Carolina and my Masters degree in Clinical Art Therapy & Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University in New York. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and a Board Certified Art Therapist. I have experience working with college students, children, teens, and adults processing trauma, those with acute mental illness, those undergoing transitions in their lives.

The counseling process is unique to each individual and commands a trusting, authentic partnership. From a strength-based perspective, I strive to foster growth in each client and support their journey towards self-determination. I believe that growth is always possible and want to help each client become the person they want to be. This happens through a safe, non-judgemental environment where we connect and identify what is getting in the way.
Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits all counseling, I utilize a variety of techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe in a supportive and collaborative approach that includes identifying patterns, practicing strategies for change and processing client responses. Change is hard, and I hope to give each client the space and support needed to tackle whatever is keeping them from their goals.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Master of Social Work from N.C. State University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate with experience working with college students, teens, and adults in the nonprofit sector, foster care system, and college setting.
